Joel Dickinson has officially produced for the biggest names in the music industry, including Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Junior Vasquez, Nile Rodgers, Kelly Price, Taylor Dayne, Village People, Tony Moran, Jessica Sutta, C+C Music Factory, Doris Day, Rozalla, and many more. He has worked on a number of high-charting singles on the Billboard Club Charts, including programming & engineering for the Junior Vasquez mix of Whitney Houston - "Million Dollar Bill," which reached the #1 spot!
Many of Joel's remixes and productions have attained high positions on the Billboard Club Chart, including Barbra Streisand - "Don't Like To Me" (#8), Whitney Houston - "Million Dollar Bill" (#1), Tony Moran ft. Deborah Cooper - "Heartbeat" (#4), Jessica Sutta ft. Kemal - "Again" (#11), Eddie X ft. Niki Haris - "This Time Baby" (#5), C+C Music Factory ft. Scarlett Santana - "Rain" (#8), and Whitney Houston - "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" (#17).
Joel began creating “bedroom bootleg” remixes and edits in 1998 after landing his first DJ residency at Trikkx in St. Paul, MN. In addition to Trikkx, Joel has also had residencies at The Saloon (Minneapolis), Rumours/Innuendo (St. Paul), and special gigs at events and clubs throughout the Midwest. In 2011, Joel retired from DJing, although he has played the rare special event and pop-up appearance since.
In 2000, Joel established Thee Werq’n B!tches as a remix outfit. In 2006, Joel created the signature song for Thee Werq’n B!tches, an original track with samples from the film, “Mommie Dearest.” Thee Werq’n B!tches ft. Faye Dunaway – “No Wire Hangers! (Thee Hollywood Royalty Mix)” and its’ music video were honored by VH1’s Best Week Ever in 2008, earning the title of “The Gayest Thing On The Internet.”
In 2009, he began programming and engineering for the legendary DJ/producer Junior Vasquez. Joel’s work with Junior includes Sade – “Soldier Of Love,” Whitney Houston – “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” and “Million Dollar Bill,” Steppenwolf vs. Mighty Dub Katz – “Magic Carpet Ride,” Junior Vasquez – “X” and “If Madonna Calls,” Cyndi Lauper – “Come On Home,” Cher – “Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore,” and many more.
In early 2019, Joel received his highest honor, the privilege of working for Barbra Streisand. His remix of "Don't Lie To Me" helped the record advance to #8 on the Billboard charts. He also worked on the extraordinary "Don't Fall For It" by dance sensation Grapefruit Sound Lab & Amuka. He also began a collaboration with Billboard Artist of the Decade and dance music legend, Kristine W for a series of remixes and album tracks. On several, Joel teamed up with his mentor, Joey Mosk, including the World Pride mix of Kristine's house classic, Land Of The Living!
